Supporting Children as They Start School
Starting school is a major milestone for children and families. Some children feel excited and ready, while others may need extra reassurance, routine and support as the transition gets closer.
It is normal for children to feel nervous about new environments, new adults, new routines and being away from their family. For some children, these worries can become harder to manage.
Learning how to recognise anxiety and respond calmly can help children build confidence over time. Small, consistent steps can make the transition to school feel more manageable.
Why This Matters for Early Learning Families
At Dinky Di, we understand how important the early years are in helping children feel secure, confident and ready for the next stage of learning.
Through consistent routines, supportive educators, play-based learning and strong relationships, children develop important social and emotional skills that support their transition to school.
This webinar may be especially useful for families with children who are preparing to start school in 2027, or for parents and carers who would like more tools to support confidence, separation and emotional wellbeing.
